Bike Philly!

Went to Bike Philly 2011 today and it was a blast! It was the first time I attended the event and probably the first time I've biked 10 miles. Started off going down from the Art Museum and Eakins Oval and into City Hall then Chinatown which I can say had the largest abundance of potholes throughout the whole route. From then it was onto Washington Blvd, passing by Penn's landing, (yes, they closed off all the lanes going south, it was great) and going into Old City and South Philly from there. Biking down through South Philly and Old City was probably my favorite part of the route. The quaint little streets and beautiful row houses made the atmosphere so peaceful. Then from there was back into Center City (seeing all the blocked roads and cars honking and stalling in traffic definitely made my day!) and back up to the Art Museum for food and refreshments. I didn't take any pictures cause I was already all the way near the end so I didn't want to fall behind and it was a bit too cloudy for pictures today anyways. Next year I am definitely going to go the 20 mile route as the 10 mile felt a bit short for me. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and would love to go again next year. Hopefully it'll be sunny next time.
